Anthony Jackson - Bass Line on "Grand Slam"

This is another masterpiece bassline by the one and only Anthony Jackson. It comes from a short lived fusion band led by keyboardist Mitch Forman. I'm not sure this CD is still in print but check the link below for more on that. AJ plays just about every possible way you can go from C7 to F7. It's a masterclass in approach notes from above and below, use of the low B string, something AJ is THE MASTER of, and just overall taste. For my money, Anthony is the greatest living electric bass player there is. Sorry Bona, Wooten, and all the Matt Garrison Clones. I love Matthew but his clones are like a bad rash, they just won't go away. AJ truly stands alone. Study this! Thanks to Alex Rocha for donating this to the site!
