Michael Brecker - Tenor Sax Solo on "Moose the Mooch"

This is a transcription I did from back in my Berklee days. It's on the Charlie Parker tune "Moose the Mooch" which is in turn an "I Got Rhythm" changes based composition. Brecker burns through the first A section using mostly a B flat minor pentatonic scale giving it bluesy sound overall. The first bridge is interesting because Brecker uses the tri-tone substitutes over the dominant chords like Db7 for G7 and so on. He also treats the last two measures of F7 as an augmented chord. If you're new to all this chord scale stuff and want a primer click here. This solo is from a CD called "Mel Lewis and Friends". I searched for it on Amazon.com with no luck. If you can get a hold of it it's a great recording.
